The remake of Gothic 1 has been in the making for a long time. Last I checked, it was on about 41,000 wish lists on Steam alone! It goes without saying that gamers are quite eager to finally get their hands on this remake. Here’s everything we know about Gothic 1 Remake!
Gothic 1 Remake Details
THQ Nordic held a digital showcase on August 12, 2023, where they showed off plenty of upcoming titles along with the Gothic 1 Remake. They released an official trailer showing what players can expect when the game comes out. The trailer, titled “Welcome to the Old Camp,” gives you a sneak peek at the new engine the game is going to be based on.

In Gothic 1 Remake, you play a Hero who sets out into a world full of danger and adventure while trying to survive. The Gothic 1 Remake will have an all-new combat system based on its original incarnation, maintaining the same feel along with fancy new graphics and updated mechanics.
Gothic 1 Release Date & Platforms
The Gothic 1 Remake is reportedly coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. THQ Nordic did not specify when the game was going to be released. However, with other THQ Nordic releases coming out around 2024, I would say Gothic 1 Remake has a pretty good chance of releasing around then. This is just my personal hunch; there’s nothing official yet, but I’ll be sure to update this page when more news comes out.
