Warzone maps have been getting bigger and bigger with points of interest, sightlines, and tons of elevated terrain that would make Obi-Wan jealous. Thanks to all of Warzone 3’s grandiose settings, it opens up some incredible opportunities to snipe from the air, and one player has made the most of that by achieving the longest kill with a sniper rifle.
DeerArgreeable42 pulled off an incredible feat, immediately taking to the Warzone subreddit to show off the world record for sniper kills. His kill totaled 1.2 kilometers in distance; a video accompanies the big accolade for the naysayers.
Thankfully, the comments on the thread are full of players congratulating DeerArgreeable42 on the achievement. Some wondered how they managed to spot the enemy with their scopes from such an unrealistic distance, but received no answer, so we have to assume they’re just that good.
Some commentators made fun of the typo of writing “WW3” instead of “MW3”, and offered their congratulations for being the best sniper of World War III and hoped to receive a medal for his bravery. Amid the light-hearted banter, everyone remained positive and supportive of the new world record.
DeerArgreeable42’s sniper rifle of choice was the XRK Stalker. However, it was equipped with some interesting attachments that led to some confusion. One notable upgrade to the sniper rifle was the short barrel, an attachment that noticeably reduces range, but we weren’t given any explanation from the record holder. The best idea I’ve heard is that the bullet drop of the weapon equipped with the short barrel aligned with the sniper rifle’s scope is better than that of a regular barrel.
To put the incredible distance into perspective, DeerArgreeable42 managed to hit a moving target nearly a mile from his current position. In Warzone’s meta of slide cancelling, diving, and bouncing off every surface in the immediate area, the shot achieved in the video is even more impressive.
