Developer Fatshark has released another trailer for the upcoming shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, this time dedicated to one of the playable classes in the game, Ogryn: Skullbreaker. The short gameplay video showcases Ogryn’s key features and moveset, which combines melee and ranged attacks.
Based on his key features, the development team recommended players use Ogryn against hordes to unleash his hidden potential. Because he has an effective stagger and suppression effect, Ogryn can serve as the frontline character if his team lacks a tank member, allowing his teammates to deal damage without having to keep a close eye on the attack. behind him. Although Ogryn focuses primarily on close combat with a knife and hammer, he can also use a knocker shotgun to execute his enemies from a distance.
What sets Ogryn: Skullbreaker apart from the other classes is that he brings flexibility to his team thanks to his efficient move set, combined with ranged and melee attacks. For example, Ogryn can mop up large waves of enemies with his thumper shotgun, while his grenade crate tactical action lets him switch combat styles when he runs out of ammo. Perhaps most excitingly, in melee, Ogryn specializes in using a tactical knife and shield combination to slash at the enemy and protect against ranged attacks. His weaponry includes a club that can be used with his shield during combat.
As also seen in the trailer, Ogryn can charge forward, allowing him to get closer to the enemy faster if he can’t attack from a distance. Additionally, Ogryn will appear on the battlefield with various passive abilities, such as increased damage from heavy melee attacks and toughness from melee abilities. With this in mind, players can power up during combat by summoning passive effects if they choose to focus on the melee attack instead of the shotgun.
Fatshark has previously released a gameplay trailer for the Zealot: Preacher class, showing its abilities in action against the Moebian Sixth. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is due out for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam on November 30.
