TikTok from its limits to US lawmakers Aroged

In December, the US Senate approved a TikTok ban on work-provided phones. Now this ban applies to the US-only court of law.

After the US Senate approved TikTok, the House of Representatives is the first to deal with the application. The ban was introduced through an amendment to the house rules of parliament and is not for any bill that was previously considered in the Senate. In any case, the scope is the same. Members of the Democratic Party can not install TikTok on their work phones. That measure applies to other people working at the parliament.

The administration of parliament will respond to any security threat. China’s social media could pose a security risk for the American population if espionage was allowed. Last month, an investigation from a US publisher showed that a spy was an infidel. They were spied on by the company’s parent firm to find out their location. At the moment it is still unknown whether ByteDance also will be able to pursue politicians or citizens in other ways.

TikTok is a threat to national security.

On the other hand, TikTok is considered a threat to the national security. The US government is also trying to put an even closer emphasis on this. ByteDance is also responsible for the stocking all user data in the US. Oracle works with ByteDance to transfer all data. The European users will not change that. A recent release in the United States showed that the company has indicated that it will store its data in Ireland from 2023.

That doesn’t mean the Chinese government can’t request the data. ByteDance is an American company and therefore is subject to Chinese laws and regulations. The Chinese Huawei would leave the smartphone and telecom industry in 2019. TikTok seems to be ignoring that position, but a stop from using work phone calls of the US parliament brings us closer to that.
