Ubisoft has plenty of games in the kitchen, but one of them has been highly anticipated since its announcement in 2017 at E3, but has been delayed time and time again. Unfortunately, Skull and Bones has gone under and is behind schedule once again.

Ubisoft released a declaration saying, “We have decided to postpone its release in order to have more time to showcase a much more polished and balanced experience and to raise awareness. Skull and Bones will now be released in early 2023-24.” In addition to this, the document mentions an upcoming beta phase, so fans can at least test the waters.

Skull and Bones has been delayed six times now, each time with its date pushed back. We had hoped to see a November 2022 release, but that’s been pushed back to March 2023, and now Skull and Bones has an ambiguous 2023 to 2024 release date.

While Ubisoft’s pirate title Skull and Bones has been delayed, 2023 still has a promising slate of new pirate experiences. Also, Sea of Thieves is still going strong, so fans of the genre have something to play for while they tend to be disappointed by this delay.
