When you’re looking to pick up a pack of the newest set in MTG Arena, not having gold is quite the hurdle. Gold is used to purchase card packs, purchase cosmetics, and enter events in MTG Arena, making it an invaluable resource. While the game is quite generous with gold rewards for new players, it can be difficult to get gold at higher levels. These are the best ways to earn gold in MTG Arena.
How do you earn gold in MTG Arena?
Complete daily and weekly challenges.
The most effective way to earn gold is through daily and weekly challenges. Each of these challenges grants between 250 and 750 gold, and they are updated every week. These quests are usually pretty easy to complete as they require you to play some games with a deck of a specific color. Since custom games with friends count toward these goals, you can extend a friendly game and complete these challenges quickly.
Win matchmade games
Every time you win a public match in MTG Arena, you receive 250 gold and 275 XP. This amount adds up over time, especially if you’re beating your weekly challenges and playing multiple games. However, custom games with friends will not earn you gold rewards, so while custom games are great for farming challenges, they won’t earn you as much gold as matchmade games.

Replay of daily challenges
If your current daily challenge only has a 500 gold reward, you can reroll it to potentially get a 750 gold challenge. You can only repeat one challenge per day, and you might get stuck with another 500 gold challenge, but it’s always worth a try. These expensive challenges are no more difficult than the cheap quests, and simply require you to cast spells of a certain mana color or play lands.
