Pokémon GO trainers will have their work cut out for them when the Catching Z event rolls around, because that’s when Mega Blaziken enters Mega Raids. This Pokemon is not to be taken lightly, as it has a great Attack stat (329) and boasts strong moves like Overheat, Brave Bird, and Focus Blast. The only hope of beating this titan is to bring in several teammates and use some of these counters.
What Pokémon counters Mega Blaziken in Pokémon GO?
Due to its Fire and Fighting types, there are several weaknesses in Mega Blaziken that trainers can exploit. The problem is that they need to do enough damage before being killed by Mega Blaziken’s attack. As a result, most of the main counters are powerful Legendary Pokémon or Mega Evolutions.

This list can seem quite daunting for trainers who don’t have a large number of Legendary Pokémon. Fortunately, some more common Pokemon can deal enough damage to beat Mega Blaziken.
Some easy counters would be Water-type starters. Everyone has access to Hydro Cannon, which is arguably the best Water-type move in the game. This makes Samurott and Feraligatr good carry options. Alternatively, Gyarados resists both of Mega Blaziken’s STAB options (Fire and Fight).
Personally, I would stay away from Pokémon that are particularly fragile. Espeon, for example, can use Confusion and Psychic to quickly kill Mega Blaziken. However, if he is hit by Overheat or Brave Bird, he may not survive long enough to win the knockout.
