DETROIT (AP) — Tesla is recalling practically 1.1 million autos within the U.S. as a result of the home windows can pinch an individual’s fingers when being rolled up.

Tesla says in documents posted Thursday by U.S. security regulators that the automated window reversal system could not react accurately after detecting an obstruction.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that’s a violation of federal security requirements for energy home windows. An on-line software program replace will repair the issue, Tesla says.

The recall covers sure 2017 to 2022 Model 3 sedans and a few 2020 and 2021 Model Y SUVs. Also included are some Model S sedans and Model X SUVs from 2021 and 2022.

Tesla found the issue throughout manufacturing testing in August. Owners might be notified by letter beginning Nov. 15. The firm says in paperwork that autos in manufacturing acquired the replace beginning Sept. 13.

Tesla was not conscious of any guarantee claims or accidents because of the downside as of Sept. 16, based on the paperwork.
