Splatoon 3 Charger: Best Uses and Weaknesses

    Splatoon 3 has a bevy of weapons suitable for every style of play. While some are better for hyper-aggressive pushes, others are better suited for the more passive tactical player. The latter might prefer the Chargers, who act as snipers in other shooting games. The nice thing about Splatoon 3 is that every map offers at least a few areas where Charger users can post up, get a good look at the action, and take out enemies.

    Strengths of Splatoon 3 chargers

    Players will want to stay on the back line to get the most value out of a charger. Being anywhere near the middle of the map will result in being destroyed by any roller, ink brush, or splash in the area. Instead, stay back and look for enemies in the open.

    • You can safely shoot from afar
    • Usually only needs one shot to kill
    • You can see the whole map sitting in a high position

    Weaknesses of Splatoon 3 chargers

    Magazines take a while to charge up their shots, so they are automatically at a disadvantage if an enemy with a different weapon gets close. If this ends up happening, the best thing for the charger user to do is swim back to a safe area to continue shooting.

    Splatoon 3 magazine type weapons

    Splat Charger (Level 2)

    • splash bomb: a small projectile that can be thrown a considerable distance. It will explode several seconds after landing, releasing ink into the surrounding area.
    • ink vacuum: Creates a vortex that absorbs enemy ink. This can prevent teammates from getting inked, and once the timer runs out, it will release a large inkjet.

    Classic Squiffer (Level 8)

    • point sensor: When it explodes, it creates a cloud in the color of the user’s ink. Any enemies that get through that cloud will get a spinning marker around them, identifying their location for the team.
    • big bubbler: Forms a large cylindrical barrier when placed. Enemy ink will not be able to penetrate this barrier, but enemies can shoot if they enter.

    Splasher (level 10)

    Bamboozler 14 MK I (tier 23)

    • pumper: An explosive that really walks. When dispatched, the auto bomb will search for a nearby enemy, then detonate after a period of time.
    • Killer Lament 5.1: Summons six speakers that shoot out as ink bolts. The user can target an enemy and then all six bolts will shoot out in various directions, one of which is the targeted player. This can even crush enemies hiding behind walls.

    Scope E-liter 4K (level 27)
