Ryan Reynolds is again interested in bringing his mobile phone to Canada.

On Friday, the Vancouver-born actor posted a tweet about his holiday wishlist included “Mint Mobile” in Canada, and said that Ryan Reynolds made it happen. Mint is well-known in the US for offering unlimited talk, text and data plans low-cost $30 USD/month (about $41 CAD). TechRadar also named the carrier for Best For Overall Value.

But, Reynolds did not make any tweet for himself about Mobile in Canada.

The Canadian funnyman is trying to bring his carrier to the country in the past few years. In 2020 he said he’s actively studying his research towards expanding Mint to Canada. and last year, Reynolds launched a campaign in Canada asking for Mint, with the tape and billboard in Toronto’s Yonge andamp; Dundas Square. The Canadians pay some of the fastest wireless costs anywhere, said Reynolds in the video, urging the Canadians to contact local representatives very well.

Reynolds has certainly been trying to apply stringent requirements for registering a new carrier in Canada through the Canadian Radio-& Telecom Commission (CRTC). In particular, the CRTC has an array of rules that mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) like Mint must follow for the Canadian market. These include companies using their own spectrum licenses and plans to build a network in that area they want to piggy back their service to within seven years.

Hopefully, hear more about Reynolds efforts to bring Mint to Canada next year.
