If you’re looking for something to play, one of the biggest Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind mod out there, Tamriel rebuilt, just received two new expansions in a massive new update: Dominions of Dust and Embers of Empire. The new areas are twice the size of morrowind expansion blood Moonand the “200 new or revised missions” bring Tamriel rebuilt on par with the original game and its expansions in terms of mission numbers.
As for what the two new areas add, Dominions of Dust adds a large Hlaalu trading port to the southwest of Vvardenfell. If you go west of the city, you will find “dangerous and sparsely inhabited borderlands” that are disputed between the great houses of Hlaalu and Redoran.
Embers of Empire revisits the most hostile part of Morrowind by adding the Imperial settlements of Firewatch and Helnim, the only Imperial settlements to be found in this land.
In case you don’t know, Tamriel rebuilt is a 21 year old mod project that aims to add the continent of Morrowind to the base game. If you remember from last year, Dominions of Dust and Embers of Empire were two areas players were told to look forward to this year as part of the 2022 roadmap, so it’s good to see modders deliver on their promise.
For a slightly more detailed look at what to expect, Dominions adds 120 new missions and 415 new “fully detailed interiors”, ranging from buildings to caves. You can expect to find NPCs or enemies in all of them. There’s also a new vampire clan to join, the Orlukh, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Embers reviews all the missions in their affected areas and adds dozens of new ones, which means that 80 missions in total are affected. There are two questlines for the Imperial Legion, the Imperial Cult, the Thieves Guild, and the Fighters Guild, as well as the East Empire Company and Mages Guild. There are also random quests that you can find as you run through the vast new area.
