    S. Tier

    • Gaurav
    • Daddy Aaron Black
    • the scorpion
    • Bring the Razor Hat King
    • The eternal Shao Khan
    • Classic Sub Zero
    • Dark Raiden
    • Shang Song
    • Sundial
    • Jade
    • Infernal Scorpion
    • Kenshi

Scorpio can be a slightly controversial choice for advanced. But his special ability does a great job of changing the order of attack in the early game and remains useful later. This means that if you’re in a situation where your plan falls apart and a particular enemy moves elsewhere, you can easily get them back into position to fight a stronger opponent.

    A-Tier

    • Fire support jacks
    • Scarlett
    • Shao Khan
    • Quan Chi
    • Aaron Blake
    • Camouflage Sonia Blade
    • Raiden
    • Nub Saibut
    • the cold
    • King Lao
    • Cryomancer Lin Kuei
    • Wind God Fujin
    • Arctic Sub-Zero
    • Fire God Leo Kong

We chose to bring fire support jacks up a notch compared to what some players say. This is because he does well in Goro Boss Tower Battles – Goro is a character who takes a lot of damage – and if you haven’t unlocked him yet, he’s one of Erron Black’s. Manages to stand out as a good alternative.

    3

    B tier

    • Cryomancer Lin Kuei
    • Jax
    • Johnny Cage
    • Peacemaker
    • Kano
    • Sonya Blade
    • Sub zero
    • Leo Kong
    • Katana
    • Master Shaolin Monk
    • Milena
    • The night wolf
    • Firestarter Black Dragon
    • Sniper Black Dragon
    • Tanya

Many fan favorite characters fit right into this tier. But it’s important to note that, by and large, most of the named characters do very well. It’s only when you get into the weeds of more competitive gameplay that their shortcomings become apparent. Fortunately, the story mode and Chronicles (yes, it’s called Chronicles, not Chronicles) do a great job of letting them shine without risking an embarrassing drop on the leaderboards.

    4

    C tire

    • Baraka
    • Elite Guard Shaw Soldier
    • The troops
    • Royal Guard Shoken Warrior
    • Lancer Shoken Warrior
    • Blademistress Shoken Warrior

Slightly above the bottom tier, these characters just don’t perform that well when it comes to your regular gameplay. Fortunately, that’s a pretty short list compared to the very low-level characters. Sadly, Baraka sat next to Fujin and Elite Guard Shao Soldier. Maybe it’s time for him to go see an orthodontist to get those teeth checked out? Shoken warriors are a step above other normal combatants, but they are not on par with many other named characters.

    5

    D Tier

    • Guardian Spirit
    • Deadly spirit
    • Reform the soul
    • Sgt Special Forces
    • Medical Special Forces
    • Brute Turktan Warrior

It should come as no surprise that most of the characters at the bottom of the tier list are basically elite mooks. Spirits are your early game canon fodder before you start recruiting new characters, and while they’re decent at holding the line, they just don’t stack up to high-level named characters. The Special Forces roles are a minor upgrade, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re primarily meant to fill in less diverse team rosters.

What do you think of the Mortal Kombat Onslaught tier list? Agree? Disagree? Have some suggestions? We’ll keep updating this as things go along and keep an eye out for any new characters whenever we’re able!
