Beat’em up ARPG King of Fighters ALLSTAR will, unexpectedly, cease service in October 2024. The announcement was made via the official Netmarble forums, where it was revealed that the game would be shutting down on October 30 with the in-game. Shopping is already closed.
The announcement comes somewhat unexpectedly as King of Fighters ALLSTAR has been going strong for over six years, and has been collaborating with many high-profile fighting game franchises, including SNK itself. Based on the more specific but historically important King of Fighters franchise.
A developer’s handbook announcement that goes into more detail attributes the closure at least in part to the game actually running out of fighters to adapt to, even for a series with a roster as large as KoF.
