by Stephen King It’s The novel is a long dueling timeline work with a great mix of creepy, terrifying, and downright terrifying. There are many reasons why It’s It’s a great movie. For starters, Derry’s small-town community gives viewers an amazing environment to explore alongside the characters. In its lowest sense, It’s it’s a horror movie, but it’s also a narrative study of fear and a call for self-acceptance. To start the movie, the Losers Club is afraid of everything: bullies, germs, loss, clowns, and rejection. And that’s exactly what Pennywise feeds on: fear. So to begin with, everyone is deathly afraid of him.

However, as the movie progresses, the kids learn that Pennywise is powerless when they refuse to be afraid. Thus, courage and self-acceptance are the themes that It’s tries to show, which is not always commonplace in horror movies. More importantly, the breadth of characters and the scarcity of themes allow viewers to cathartically see themselves in the film and experience its themes.
