BG3 will be coming to PC on August 3, with the PlayStation 5 launch a month later on September 6.
We currently have no timeline for the Xbox Series X|S release date, and Larian has confirmed the only reason it’s not releasing on that platform at the same time as the PS5 due to a technical issue.
The Larian Director of Publishing. Michael Douse, confirmed on Twitter that there was “no exclusivity deal that prevents us from launching on Xbox”, going on to state that “the issue is getting split-screen working on the Series S”.
This is due to the Xbox Series consoles having feature parity, meaning if something works on the Series X, it must also work on the less powerful Series S.
Will Baldur’s Gate 3 go on Xbox Game Pass?
It’s hard to say if Baldur’s Gate 3 will ever come to Xbox Game Pass. Once it does release on the Xbox Series X|S, there’s no reason it couldn’t, but we can’t say for certain as none of their previous games have been added to Game Pass before.
