If you’re AFK next to fighting Echoes in Wuthering Waves, you can still get the drops.

From time to time, you will encounter Echoes in Wuthering Waves fighting each other. This only occurs when two types of Echoes appear next to each other that are not similar Echoes. When these Echoes start fighting, you can wait for the fight to end and still receive Echo drops from them, if any.

For example, a pack of Echoes containing Fusion Dreadmanes and Havoc Dreadmanes will typically not fight each other, but another Echo wandering near Dreadmanes will find themselves surrounded. You can go AFK during these types of fights and return to potential Echo drops.

This works best when you are within target range of the Echoes (where you can see their health bars), but far enough away that you won’t attract them to you while you can’t defend yourself.

To benefit from this, you will need to find a group of Echoes that are already fighting. These aren’t everywhere in Huanglong, so it’s best to explore a little and map some places that definitely have Incompatible Echoes.

There are a few places I’ve found on the map that almost always have echoes of war:

    1. The waterfall next to Gubei Pass, which has two Gulpuff echoes and two Chirpuffs spitting water at each other.

    2. East of Qichi Village, right next to the path, there is a Havoc Dreadmane and three Sabyr Boar Echoes that occasionally fight. Sometimes the boars aren’t there, but Dreadmane always respawns in the same place.

    3. On the coast of Tiderise Cliff, you can find two Fusion Dreadmanes and a Havoc Dreadmane hitting a Spearback Echo.

To use Tiderise Cliff Echoes as an example of this feature in the game, here are the fighting Echoes I mentioned earlier. I flew off the cliff and saw them in combat, so I knew this was my chance to land and stop paying attention for a couple of minutes.

I watched the Spearback lose to the Dreadmanes and an Echo was launched without my Rover getting involved at all. (If anyone needs additional testing, my health condition is exactly the same in both images.)

You can also get Echo Drops from battles involving Echoes and Midnight Rangers, as well as Echoes fighting Exiles and other human enemies.

Falling echoes will follow the Echo Pity system, so keep that in mind if you’re someone who keeps track.
