After unlocking the Tier 3 Drafted Factions missions in the Call of Duty: Warzone DMZ, the first challenge you get is Friendly Fire. For this mission, you need to locate and kill the Pyro Commander in Al Mazrah. You are also tasked with killing the Pyro guards with fire. But before talking about how to eliminate these enemies, let’s see where we can find them.
Where to find Pyro and Pyro guards in DMZ
The Pyro Commander can be found inside one of the following three enclosed spaces in Al Mazrah, which you must have visited for the Smoking Gun mission:
- control tower at Al Malik airport
- downtown post office in the city of Al Mazrah
- U.S. Embassy in the city of Al Mazrah
All of these buildings are locked and can only be opened with their specific keys, which you can obtain by deleting HVT or by purchasing at Buy Stations. You can take all three keys into a match and complete the quest, or you can take whatever key you have and go for the Pyro if it spawns inside that building. However, the most efficient way is acquire a master key which can open any building.
There is no need to unlock the strongholds before you know the Pyro is there. Travel to all these POIs one after the other and you will receive the Pyro alert once you are near the building he is in. The area will have a white skull icon as shown in the image above. Sometimes the Pyro also carries the weapon case. So if you see the yellow case icon in any of these three places, rest assured that you will find the commander there.

How to kill Pyro guards with fire in DMZ
Although all of these areas are heavily guarded, you can easily infiltrate them if you are patient. The armored and unarmored AI soldiers inside the enclosed space will be the Pyro’s guards. you can shoot the red gas barrels which will explode killing nearby bots. Another way is to throw Molotov cocktail lethal to enemies to kill them with fire.
How to easily kill Pyro Commander in DMZ
The Pyro Commander doesn’t have much health, but is being held in a confined space with a trophy system. What makes this boss deadly is his ability to wield his riot shield and fire a semi-automatic shotgun at the same time. Watch out, as he can take you down with a couple of hits, even from a good distance.
However, you can kill the Pyro pretty easily if you get him into a position where you can fire a few headshots at him. We manage to lure the boss to the ladder and kill him from above. Here are the exact locations where you can find the Pyro inside enclosed spaces:
- control tower: At the top of the tower where the air control desk is.
- downtown post office: In the west body of the building, which we recommend accessing from the roof door.
- U.S. Embassy: On the second floor of the main office building.
