Although Seaweed is a useful resource, thankfully, it’s relatively simple to get. You must simply fish in any calm body of water away from water ripples.

These different coloured ripples are usually an indicator of fish (coloured by rarity). By fishing away from them you’re more likely to catch Seaweed instead.

When fishing, it’s worth having a Disney companion with you proficient in the fishing task. They have a chance to double the catch of any fishing and will sometimes find Red Algae.

Red Algae can then be converted at a crafting station for five pieces of Seaweed.

Other than crafting and cooking Seaweed can be used to tame Turtle Critters on Dazzle Beach. There are five different coloured turtles available at various times on Dazzle Beach. These adorable Critters are shy and will hide in their shells if you get too close to them.

To tame Turtles in the game, you must:

    • Approach them slowly and carefully like the Raccoon Critters in The Forest of Valor.
    • As you approach you must stop every time the turtle retreats in its shell.
    • Only advance when you see their head poke out again.
    • Repeat the process until you get the ‘Approach’ interaction on your screen.
    • Feed the Critter some Seaweed and it will become friendly to you as it is their favourite type of food.

There is a random chance for the Critter to be recruited as a companion once you feed it successfully. You have one chance of recruiting a companion per day. Otherwise, the Critter will give you either a Dreamshard or Motif bag.
