Common mistakes and errors when making plaster in Dwarf Fortress

There are two common known issues if you are having trouble making drywall dust. The first is not having enough bags. The bags will sometimes appear empty but contain something like a single seed, or something else, which prevents them from filling. Or they may be banned or inaccessible to the Furnace. To fix this, make more bags.

Alternatively, sometimes there is a bug where, no matter what, the task of making plaster dust will not complete in the kiln. In this case, you will have to use the Work orders menu to have your manager set up multiple jobs to fix this error.
