The Dawntrail expansion in Final Fantasy XIV has changed the dynamics of glamour gameplay with features like Facewear, which finally allows players to sport their favorite eyewear while also wearing headdresses. He Face shields This feature effectively revamps a portion of what were once fashion accessories in Final Fantasy XIV and turns them into a special type of glamor so you can customize it however you want. However, in order to use this feature, you will first need to complete a couple of steps.
How to Unlock Facewear in FFXIV Dawntrail
Go to the golden saucer and talk to him Prize Claim Wizard If you stand next to the cactus pot vendor in the entrance plaza, you will notice that several new face accessory options have been added for varying amounts of MGP. However, you’ve probably already obtained some or all of these fashion accessories and instead the game will notify you that Exchange them for masks by talking to a disaster rescuer. in Limsa Lominsa, Gridania or Ul’dah.
When interacting with a calamity savior, you should see ‘Exchange of glasses’ in the background. Select that, followed by ‘Change glasses (convert into face protection)’and then you should receive all your previous glasses fashion accessories like Facewear, effectively unlocking the feature for you.
For those you don’t have, you can now go back to the Gold Saucer and buy the ones you want for MGP. Remember that if it has a gold mark next to it, you already have it. Currently they include:
- The faces we wear – Thick-framed glasses: 30,000 MGP
- The faces we wear: contemporary pince-nez: 40,000 MGP
- The faces we wear – Rimless glasses: 70,000 MGP
- The faces we wear – Minstrel glasses: 90,000 MGP
- The faces we wear – Oval glasses: 100,000 MGP
Once you’ve unlocked the Facewear feature and have a few options to work with, you can start putting them into your favorite outfits. Before you press the Teleport button, keep in mind that you don’t need to go to your local inn and search your Glamor dresser to do so.
How to use the face shield in FFXIV Dawntrail
Go to your control panel and select ‘Character’ under the ‘Character’ tab to open your character’s menu. Bottom left side of your equipped gear set is a slot with a glasses symbol (as seen above). Select this and the Facewear menu will appear, allowing you to select a new glasses look. Even better, each pair has 12 colors to choose from, giving you greater flexibility for customization.
It’s worth noting that if you change jobs, you’ll need to re-equip whatever facial accessory you want for that new job. Likewise, when you return to the job you switched from, you’ll have to do it again. It’s a little fiddly, but it’s a cool feature that can add some sophisticated touches to your character’s outfit and hairstyle.
