GTA 6’s Expected Release Window Revealed by Xbox

Microsoft has revealed when it expects Grand Theft Auto VI to be released. It’s been almost a decade since Rockstar Games released the last Grand Theft Auto game and four years since it released its last title, red dead redemption 2. Since no one makes a game like Rockstar Games thanks to their talent, size, and resources allocated to their staff, many yearn for a new title. However, things like COVID have likely delayed some projects internally, but Rockstar Games was kind enough to confirm that the next Grand Theft Auto is in the works and will apparently be their next release. It remains to be seen when it will be released as we don’t have a trailer for the game yet, but Rockstar promises more information in the coming months.

However, a new story is spinning that suggests Microsoft has an idea when Rockstar will launch GTA 6. As part of the current situation between Microsoft, Sony and the regulators for the acquisition of Activision, the owner of the Xbox platform presented a document that talks about Activision’s competitors and the value they bring to the industry. in the presentationMicrosoft says it expects Grand Theft Auto VI to be released in 2024, which means that we would be 24 months away from playing it at the latest. However, there is a catch. The presentation cites a TechRadar article that collects all the great GTA 6 rumors pointing to speculation of a 2024 release date. A Bloomberg report suggested that the developers don’t expect the game to launch before 2024, Take-Two projected significant growth by the end of that year, and other rumors suggest that could be ready by then.

All of that said, it seems more likely that Microsoft doesn’t know (or isn’t publishing its own information) and is instead gathering a consensus from the internet. Either way, 2024 doesn’t seem off the table. By then, Rockstar will have had a release gap of 6 years from its previous title and 11 years from the last Grand Theft Auto.
