God of War Ragnarok is the fastest-selling launch title ever

God of War Ragnarok is the best-selling PlayStation exclusive launch title to date! Let’s be honest though, who’s really surprised?

God of War Ragnarok was finally released in early November 2022 and is the sequel to the acclaimed God of War (2018). However, it seems that Ragnarok might even surpass its predecessor judging by its overwhelmingly positive response.

It should come as no surprise that Ragnarok has sold so well. I’m sure if everyone looked at their PlayStation friends list, there would be at least one person playing the latest entry in the series.

Also, God of War Ragnarok Collector’s Edition and Jotnar Edition sold out like hot cakes, providing a small indication of its popularity.

God of War Ragnarok breaks records!

Posted on the official PlayStation social media channels, Ragnarok is officially the fastest-selling exclusive launch title and sold over 5.1 million copies during its debut week. In addition, it is also the best-selling game in the entire franchise.

    We revisit Ragnarok!

In our God of War Ragnarok Reviewwe said: “Ragnarok is everything you loved about the previous title, but amplified. The longer story and expanded worlds allow for significant character development, making the entire game feel like a worthy sequel to its predecessor.

In related news, Ragnarok director Eric Williams has told fans not to count on the latest game getting story DLC. However, Williams has also expressed his desire to one day develop a Castlevania game. Seriously Konami, make that happen!
