“Hey, This Isn’t Pumpkin Soup…” is a Genshin Impact World Quest that you can accept in Merusea Village. It involves helping a little Melusine named Verenata test out her questionable potion recipes. Completing this quest will reward you with one of the Strange Parts for the A Gradient of Dreams and Ocre World Quest. Make sure you know how to dive in Fontaine before starting.

To unlock “Hey, This Isn’t Pumpkin Soup…”, head to the area circled in the image above in Merusea Village. A blue exclamation mark will appear in the World Map when you’re nearby, so it shouldn’t be hard to find. There, you’ll meet a little Melusine named Verenata.

If this quest doesn’t appear for you, I recommend completing Ancient Colors: Act I first. Also, before starting the quest, make sure to bring a battle-ready team with a non-Pyro and non-Dendro DPS.

Prepare a battle-ready team (DPS must not be Pyro or Dendro) before speaking to Verenata, who will tell you about her potions. You’ll automatically be teleported to the beach, where a horde of Breachus Primuses will appear. They will form a Dendro shield when you don’t kill them fast enough. Defeat two waves of Breachus Primuses to complete the objective. Speak to Verenata to turn in your progress.

Next, you’ll be asked to defeat two waves of Pyro Slimes. Naturally, these have Pyro immunity, so make sure your DPS isn’t Pyro. When you’re done, speak to Verenata once again to turn in your progress.

Verenata will ask you to go to her workshop, which is located underwater. Follow the quest navigator and jump to the sea east of the coastline. Swim toward the makeshift workshop (pictured above) to trigger dialogue. The World Quest will complete right after, and you’ll be rewarded with a Strange Part.
