Everspace 2 is an action RPG set in the endless void of space where players fly spaceships and shoot down enemies. While this sounds simple, the game features a number of various mechanics such as perks, tradable commodities, ships, and crafting items, all of which can be daunting at first. If you’re feeling a bit lost in space, don’t worry – here’s a complete guide to Everspace 2 tips and tricks for beginners.
Best Tips and Tricks for Everspace 2 Beginners
Disassemble weapons and modules.
As you start collecting better weapons and modules for your ship, you might be tempted to sell your old gear in shops for a quick profit. However, we recommend that you keep spare weapons and modules until you get your first loadout. Cargo Units not only increase cargo slots on your ship, but also unlock the ability to dismantle weapons and modules. By dismantling these items, you’ll get the parts you need to craft weapons, modules, and consumables on the fly, instead of having to buy them in a store.
Remove level restriction for better gear
In your game, you can get higher grade equipment that will be locked behind a level restriction. However, with the required amount of crafting resources, you can remove an item’s level restriction to use it before leveling up. To do so, go to the Crafting menu, open the Modify tab, and select the constrained item you want to modify. Note that you can only modify an item’s level restriction if the required level is two levels above your current player level.
Acquire better ships
It should come as no surprise that purchasing new ships significantly improves your combat abilities. Different ship classes also come with different passive and ultimate abilities, each of which can be beneficial for a wide range of playstyles. You will be able to buy your first ship from the ship trader at the Nephtys Plains station for approximately 15,000 to 30,000 credits.

Equip the right devices
Devices come in two forms: War Devices and Support Devices. War gadgets are good for combat and dealing with enemies, while support gadgets are good for survival. Try various devices to find the one that best suits your play style. All gadgets have a short cooldown period and can be upgraded with upgrade tokens that you’ll receive each time you level up.
Perks are some of the biggest investments you can make in Everspace 2. There are two types: Player Perks and Companion Perks. A three-player perk set is unlocked every five levels, and only one of a set can be activated. Add-on perks, on the other hand, are unlocked by investing resources to meet upgrade requirements. Be careful when investing resources to upgrade perks, as resources cannot be recovered once invested.
Only sell high-demand products
Everspace 2 has a trading system that is rewarding and quite easy to understand. Each item you pick up on your travels, such as clothing, liquor, ramen, or mining equipment, can be sold at varying prices based on the demand for that particular item in the current system. For simplicity and profit, only sell products that are in high demand in a system, as stores will pay a higher price for them.

Keep nanobots equipped
Of all the consumables, Nanobots are arguably some of the most useful to have in your inventory. Nanobots restore hull hit points when deployed and can be the difference between death and survival in a close combat situation. Also, some distress calls will require you to provide Nanobots to strangers to help them repair your ship.
Beware of mines
Mines are some of the most annoying things floating around in the vacuum of space in Everspace 2. Mostly found near derelict and derelict locations, mines are deadly explosives that detonate if you accidentally get too close to them. They deal massive damage and are only visible by their red lights. To defuse a mine, you need to get within 100 meters of it and then press the interact button to defuse it. Once deactivated, they will emit a green light and can be thrown at a safe distance.
exploration is key
Lastly, exploration is the main way to earn XP and loot. On the map, and as you explore, you will notice undiscovered sites, unknown signals, and distress calls. These locations will always have enemy encounters or simple puzzles that you need to solve to gain valuable loot and XP. Once you collect everything from an undiscovered site, it will be marked with a check mark on the map.
