Vanellope’s level 7 Friendship quest has proven to be my favorite quest yet, where you can team up with her to fight some epic “boss battles”. This quest can be started after unlocking Vanellope, completing her previous Friendship quests, and then building up her Friendship a bit more. Get ready to make some potions, collect your own mystical weapon, and take on three villains from the Valley. Here’s how to get started!
How to complete the Boss Up mission in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Once you reach friendship level 7 with Vanellope, either by giving her gifts, completing her role-playing activity, or completing other quests for her, you’ll be able to start her quest, “boss up.” She wants to introduce you to a new activity to do in the Valley, boss fights! You will have to prepare to fight three different villains: Ursula, Mother Gothel and Scar.
First, you will need to create some “potions”, which are three Boba teas of different flavors. If you don’t have the recipes yet, Vanellope will give them to you, so you can quickly learn them by using them from your Inventory. When you have them, you can head to the nearest cook station, pull up the recipes and auto-fill them for faster cooking.
How to Prepare “Potions” for Boss Fight in Disney Dreamlight Valley
you will have to do a raspberry boba teato boba mint teaand a coconut boba tea. These are pretty easy to make, as all you need is milk, cane sugar, and the right flavor ingredients. Here’s how to do each one:

Once you prepare them, go back to Vanellope and she will have you follow her to Úrsula’s house for your first boss battle. This really isn’t much of a boss battle, really; you will only have to talk to her and she will tell you to leave. After this, Vanellope thinks you need to prepare more for the second boss battle. To do so, you will need to find a “Mystic Sword” hidden in the Forest of Valor.

How to find a “Mystic Sword” in the Forest of Valor in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The “Mystic Sword” is not too difficult to find. Although it may appear in a random place on your Forest of Valor, it stuck pretty well since it’s a bright pink color. Look for mushroom stumps around the ground, and you’ll see them sticking out from within one. You will have to use your shovel to dig it up and then pick up the dropped wardrobe bag. Use the bag from your inventory and then you can equip the “Mystic Sword” as a backpack item.
Now that you have your weapon and shield on your back, you can go back to talking to Vanellope. she will want you to follow her as she “fights” Mother Gothel. She simply follows her character as she approaches Mother Gothel and listens to her conversation. You can talk to her again once she’s done. After the “battle” of her, it’s time for you to prepare for the final boss fight with Scar. He will need you to craft a Scar Lure to trick him.

How to Make a Scar Lure at Disney Dreamlight Valley
Creating the bait to lure Scar into his house will require a few different materials that you can find in the Valley. The toughest ingredient will be the Kingfish; You may have to wait until nightfall to be able to fish for one at Dazzle Beach if you don’t already have one on hand. Here is everything you will need:
- royal fish x1 (From the blue night fishing spots in Dazzle Beach)
- herring x3 (from fishing spots in Dazzle Beach and Glade of Trust)
- Softwood x30 (From the Plaza and Prado Tranquilo)
- Fiber x30 (made from seaweed found on Dazzle Beach)
Once you have all of that, head over to the nearest crafting table and you can craft the Scar Lure. You can then head with Vanellope to Scar’s house to set the bait and start your final boss battle. Talk to Scar and watch the interaction to complete the quest.
This was a fun adventure to go on with Vanellope that not only allowed you to stock up on Boba, but also gave you a cool new cosmetic accessory for your character. Keep building your friendship with Vanellope to reach her final friendship mission.
