Finding out whether you can hide the version number in Baldur’s Gate 3 is essential if you’re into taking screenshots, as the watermark can frustratingly distract from any shots you take.

For a game as consistently beautiful as Baldur’s Gate 3, it is a little jarring to have a string of numbers permanently burned into the top right of the screen. Understandably it can be helpful from a development point of view, but as players we are likely all wondering if there is a way to just turn it off.

We’ve got everything you need to know about if you can remove the version number in Baldur’s Gate 3 below though, so make sure to continue reading if you’re finding the watermark to be a thorn in your side in the game.

The version number watermark in Baldur’s Gate 3 is the string of numbers permanently located in the top right of your screen during cutscenes – or underneath the map in regular gameplay.

This watermark was also visible during early access, but it has unfortunately persisted into the full release of the game, leaving many players wondering whether it can be turned off at all.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to permanently hide or remove the version number in Baldur’s Gate 3, so you will have to put up with it for now.

However, disabling the game’s HUD also removes the watermark, so this is a great option if you’re looking to take some fancy screenshots. All you need to do to toggle the HUD off in-game is press F10, which disables any UI elements currently present on the screen.

This is unfortunately not an ideal or permanent solution though, as you will need UI elements present to play the game in any meaningful fashion – especially within the game’s wonderful cutscenes as the dialogue choices are also disabled.

So, that’s everything we currently know about removing the version number in Baldur’s Gate 3, but we will let you know if anything changes and a toggle is eventually added.
