Dream! Dream! All aboard the hype train! With Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion just over a month away, Bungie is making the smart decision to start releasing new images of what’s to come. This is a welcome change from the way the developer has been handling recent expansions.

in a trailer released today, The Guardians are taken to the hidden city of Neomuna on Neptune. Rather than being abandoned or blighted like virtually every other environment in Destiny 2, Neomuna is a vibrant and thriving city filled with towering skyscrapers and inhabitants.

Just as the Guardians are coming to this lush world filled with underwater motifs, so has the rebuilt Calus. Now a slave to the Witness, Calus is intent on destroying the city. It falls to the Guardians to team up with the Cloud Striders to not only hold the line, but also to push back the forces of Darkness. However, it’s not just Calus and the forces of Darkness that have arrived. The Vex have also appeared.

The trailers show the impressive images of the different parts of the city. From neon-lit town centers to meditative arboreal delights and Darkness ruins to Vex infestations, there’s plenty of variety. But the Guardians must not be distracted by the sights, as there are many villains who are eager to put out their Light.

In addition to the Cabal and Vex, the Guardians must face a new type of enemy: the Tormentors. These behemoths wield glaives, and from the trailer, it looks like they can draw the Light out of a Guardian. Fortunately, there is the new Strand subclass that allows Lightbringers to move through Neomuna like Spider-Man. There’s a lot to look forward to, and Lightfall can’t come soon enough.
