Brendan Fraser, the star of The Mummy Return, reveals that he didn’t meet Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson until after the movie finished filming.


Brendan Fraser and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson didn’t meet until after they both filmed the mummy returns – even though they filmed the movie’s big fight scene together.


“The first time I met him was at the reception after the mummy returnsFraser said. Variety. “We hadn’t met in person before that, actually, although we were fighting on screen.” The whale star added that the fight scene was probably less of a blockbuster than fans thought, as the footage consisted of Fraser fighting “a piece of tape on a stick”.

The behind-the-scenes information came as Fraser walked the red carpet at the Variety party in New York, where she was asked about her relationship with Johnson after the black adam the actor’s public praise for his former co-star’s new film, The whale. Fraser, who played bully Rick O’Connell in The Mummy trilogy, added that when the two actors finally met after filming, they had hit it off very well.

Fraser has received widespread praise for his latest big-screen project, in which the actor earned a six-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival in September. The whale sees Fraser take on the starring role of an online college professor immobilized by an eating disorder. The drama escalates in the film as his character Charlie attempts to reconnect with his estranged daughter following a traumatic family breakup earlier in her life.

Fraser was the protagonist of The Mummy trilogy, which was an action/horror series reboot of the classic 1930 Universal horror film of the same name. She acted alongside Rachel Weisz (Evelyn Carnahan), John Hannah (Jonathan Carnahan), and Arnold Vosloo in the role of the villainous Imhotep. The 2001 sequel the mummy returns it marked the return of the main cast of the 1999 blockbuster and earned Johnson his first role in a Hollywood film. Having achieved stellar heights as a star wrestler in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and later widely known only by his onstage moniker, The Rock, Johnson took on the small but important role of The Scorpion King.

The Rock was limited to a few scenes of screen time in the mummy returns as the main plot focused on the ongoing battle between Fraser’s O’Connell and Vosloo’s Imhotep. However, Johnson would reprise his character as the main character in the 2002 franchise spin-off. The scorpion king.
