The world does it like Bluepoint Games. The newly-acquired PlayStation Studios developer is behind critically acclaimed remakes like Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls, which had finalise in 2018 and 2020 respectively. There is speculation that Bluepoint Games is working on original content for its next project, but unfortunately, fans believe that the studio is working on another remake, too.

Many people want it to be Bloodborne, but it isn’t likely to be.

There are no new speculations about what Bluepoint is working on. The rage began when Bluepoint shared a holiday-themed photo on Twitter and deleted it later. With a few reports as well as a blog post, it’s still up on the internet.

Happy Holidays from Bluepoint Games. What’s inside this box?

From left to right, the open boxes highlight three notable games that Bluepoint Games has worked on before: Demons, God of the war and Shadow of the Coloss. The very interesting part, though, is the plain mystery box found between the boxes for Demon’s Soul and God of War. Since Bluepoint Games has only worked on the first-party Sony titles before, this helps in narrowing the possible answers.

There are still some people hoping that this is a tease for Bloodborne, but this is very unlikely. Insiders previously confirmed that FromSoftware is the only one who can make either a remaster or a remake of Bloodborne. At this time, FromSoftware is busy with the post-launch content for Elden Ring, who recently won the GOTY award in Los Angeles and Japan among others, and Armored Core 6.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is widely considered the best Metal Gear game.

It’s the only logical answer, Metal Gear Solid. The box itself looks completely plain, like the ones that Solid Snake would hide inside of the game. Hideo Kojima also posted a cryptic tweet. It’s worth noting that Metal Gear isn’t a Sony-first-party title. Konami has the rights to Metal Gear. Nevertheless, in recent years, it had shown a willingness to sell its most treasured items to foreign studios. One may say that Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill F, and Silent Hill Townfall are being developed by third parties.

Sony could have mediated a meeting between Kojima and Konami to make a Metal Gear Solid remaster or remake happen. The fact that, even with previous rumors, a remake of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has all come to work.

Metal Gear has been at a remake and remaster meeting for the past few years.

If Bluepoint is indeed working on a new project, don’t expect it to be announced anytime soon. Most likely, Sony will present this game in its next state of the game, which won’t be in February.
