Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Black Adam, starring Dwayne Johnson, tops the domestic box office in its opening weekend, beating Shazam!

The actor has confirmed that he “absolutely” has plans for a Black Adam vs. Superman, saying, “That’s the whole point of this, man.” He continued, “I’ve been saying for some time that there’s a new era in the DC Universe that’s about to begin. And what I meant by that was to introduce a whole new character. It’s not a sequel, it’s not an existing IP. It was . .. you know, Black Adam!”
Originally scheduled to launch in December 2020, black adam officially began filming in April 2021 after a long delay due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Throughout the months of filming, Johnson was open about his intense training schedule for the role of the titular antihero, routinely posting updates on his diet and exercise regimen. In addition to that, Johnson also shared several behind-the-scenes looks at the black adam ensemble, including teases of his costume, as well as the “cutting edge” technology from the film.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, black adam stars Johnson as the titular antihero and hits theaters October 21, 2022.
