Easter Eggs and References in Black Adam
Many of the homages to the DC Comics canon come from the aforementioned actors and their roles, with Henry Winkler’s Al Pratt suggesting an even deeper legacy for the JSA. Likewise, Cyclone’s colorful everyday clothes are very much in line with her wardrobe from the JSA Geoff Johns comics. It has been confirmed that she is related to Abigail Hunkel, the original Red Tornado, with her comic book origin of being kidnapped and experimented on by TO Morrow explained in conversation.
Black Adam’s powers are also established as coming from the ancient Egyptian gods, with the acronym “SHAZAM” representing different figures than those that empower Billy Batson. There is also a large amount of DC merchandise seen in the film, including comics and posters, all of which are the actual works of DC as published by DC Entertainment.
