Equipment can be collected from chests or containers, as well as by defeating certain enemies. You can equip them through your menu, under the tab symbolized by the glyphic cube. Each piece of gear is part of a set and is connected to specific stats or items. The best way to figure out what each character should equip is to take a closer look at each character’s existing stats and abilities and play to her strengths.

    luffy

Luffy is your main Power battle type and is capable of the most forceful attacks. To play to his benefit, you’ll want to accentuate that raw strength and create as much potential damage as you can. Things like the attack increase, critical rate, or even the power buffs from him are generally great options.

    Offense:

    • Can
    • Stroke
    • critical rate
    • TP Charge Rate

    Defending:

    • Technique
    • Confuse
    • To sleep
    • Poison

    Robin

Robin is a technique battle type and uses her Flower-Flower abilities to weaken her opponents with knockouts and stuns or make them vulnerable to subsequent attacks with long-range magical blows. Despite being one of the lowest starting TP characters, her abilities can require higher amounts of TP, making her a good team choice to help balance her out.

    Offense:

    • Initial value of TP
    • TP
    • Weak
    • Technique

    Defending:

    • Speed
    • Freeze
    • Lightning
    • Paralyze

    Sanji

Sanji is another Power-type individual with abilities that allow for short-range and long-range attacks on enemies. Although his attack might not reach the levels of Luffy’s, he is still capable of dealing significant damage, especially if he chooses to upgrade his attack with the right equipment.

    Offense:

    • Can
    • Stroke
    • Viscera
    • critical rate

    Defending:

    • Technique
    • Charm
    • Freeze
    • Confuse

    Zoro

Zoro attacks with his katanas at close range and despite having a lower attack than Luffy and Sanji, he still deals a lot of damage due to the bleeding that the conflict between their blades causes. With the damage potential of his swords, he increases his attack and makes sure he stays balanced. Since his defense is higher than some other characters, he is also able to defeat more powerful enemies if he chooses to upgrade his defense and HP further.

    Offense:

    • Stroke
    • Technique
    • Balance
    • HP

    Defending:

    • Speed
    • Freeze
    • Confuse
    • Defending

    usopp

Usopp is the sniper of the crew, with many quick long-range attacks. He uses explosives with various elements, such as burn effects, and is able to paralyze and knock out opponents to set his team up for success.

    Offense:

    • Speed
    • Burn
    • Weak
    • Mirage

    Defending:

    • Can
    • Confuse
    • Paralyze
    • Weak

    Helicopter

Chopper is a Power-type character; however, he is also the crew’s healer. While he can occasionally deal some damage, he is also the main support character who can keep his team healed and clear of debuffs. As long as Chopper is alive, he will be able to keep his teammates strong and motivated around him.

    Offense:

    • Initial value of TP
    • TP
    • Can
    • HP

    Defending:

    • Technique
    • Lightning
    • Confuse
    • Defending

    Nami

Nami is another speedy character who is best known for confusing and charming opponents into not attacking, leaving them vulnerable to her team’s attacks. He also uses lightning elements that can paralyze his enemies. The best types of equipment for her will accentuate her sneaking skills and allow her to prevent the enemy from attacking.

    Offense:

    • Speed
    • Charm
    • Confuse
    • Lightning

    Defending:

    • Can
    • Freeze
    • Burn
    • Paralyze

You might have a ton of gear collected in your inventory, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to equip them all at once. You can only equip gear that fits in the square slots on the left side of your gear list. Each item will be a different size or shape, allowing you to fit several together if they aren’t too big. If you cannot fit all the ones you want, you will have to prioritize the ones that are most beneficial to you. You can click the Recommended Gear button and select each category to see its best items.

These are just a few options for building gear based on character strengths and abilities, but there are plenty of other ways to equip gear. In the comments below, let us know which team you’re prioritizing on your characters.
