Battlefield 2042 Made 40 Changes to the Game Without Telling Anybody


the recent battlefield 2042 Apparently, the update made a bunch of changes and improvements that weren’t described in the official patch notes for the update. How do we know this? Well, because the game is Reddit The page keeps an up-to-date list of everything, and has so far collected 40 different things that aren’t in the patch notes in any way. Some of these things are inconsequential, so it makes sense that they were left out, but others greatly improve the game, so their omission is strange.

For example, overall CPU performance seems to have improved. Meanwhile, the explosions look better, players can now customize their UI color, and the shotgun reticle appears to be larger. Most of these aren’t game-changing, but add up to make a game that still needs a lot of improvement.

Below you can check out all the “secret” changes discovered so far, again courtesy of Reddit. With that said, remember to take the list below with a grain of salt because this is not official information.

  1. Added back the network event graph showing fired bullets, client hits, and server hits.
  2. Players can change the color of their user interface.
  3. AK-24 Steady Drill now also has a unique skin grip, just added in this update.
  4. Huge increase in PC performance as stated by many users on all social networks and forums.
  5. It seems that DICE has added some kind of micro/HD destruction. [NEEDS FURTHER VERIFICATION]
  6. AIM support on consoles has been modified in some way. Some report that it is better and some report that it is worse.
  7. Specialists have new voice lines in the main menu, squad view scene, and in-game (for example, Mckay now makes a comment about his flak vest taking a round when shot at)
  8. Some weapons have adjusted the visual recoil which now has more bounce instead of a flat camber effect.
  9. The fabric rippling effect on fabrics when in or around helicopters appears to slow down instead of stopping instantly when moving away from the helicopter.
  10. New Stumble Animation [requires verification]
  11. Takedowns and melee now splatter blood on your screen
  12. Realizing that they tried to fix weird vehicle physics where a tank could be flipped over with LATV4. I crashed into a tank at full speed and my LATV nearly exploded while the tank was barely moving.
  13. MBT turret rotation slightly buffed, but quite subtle, so [needs further verification]
  14. ⁠Better CPU performance
  15. BFBC2 smiley is changed + calling card
  16. You can move when the big map is open
  17. Lock-Ons for Jets have significantly increased their damage. A single missile takes enemy aircraft to 15 hp.
  18. I’m not sure if this is considered a stealth change, but the Vault version of the XM8 lmg has barely any bullets compared to what it was before the update on its portal version.
  19. Visual improvements to explosions (such as more particles on tank destruction)
  20. Plane crashes seem more cinematic, much heavier, and perhaps more similar to bf5. Also, vehicle wreckage seems to linger a bit longer before disappearing.
  21. The font on the ammo counter in the weapon icon window at the bottom right of the hud has been changed.
  22. Fixed the misaligned visor on the Liquidators DM7 skin.
  23. New model for Cobra Grip on all weapons
  24. BSV-M sometimes doesn’t play the reload animation
  25. I can happily say that the M16A3 heavy barrel is no longer flawed, it shreds with the heavy barrel and foregrip
  26. It’s not easy to confirm, but as someone who plays almost exclusively against the AI, they feel overpowered and very difficult to handle when in vehicles. I’d love to know if anyone else has noticed this.
  27. There is a new/renamed xp event when you kill someone with a melee attack (dog tag taken + 25)!
  28. The flashlight no longer casts shadows on the environment on ultra settings on PC, however it still casts shadows on players.
  29. I played alone for an hour, but no longer experienced mouse instability/stutter. It could be related to stealth performance improvement.
  30. The Against The Grain pack has been added back
  31. Zoom settings are now saved when you switch to another varicose lens, so if you’re at the 1x setting on the Ghost 1-4x, you’ll also be set to aim through the red dot on the Maul 3x/1x
  32. The GVT 45-70 no longer fires 1 headshot on the map when it has a 6KU suppressor equipped. I couldn’t find it anywhere in the patch notes.
  33. Battle Pass unlocks can no longer be scrolled with the mouse wheel; it was probably too OP a feature for PC gamers.
  34. Very small change – the PF51 ejects the correct 5.7 x 28mm cartridge, whereas previously it only ejected 9mm. Satisfying to see.
  35. The shotgun reticle appears to be a larger circle now.
  36. 870 mcs nerfed to the ground.
  37. Lis’s “Slow Burn” skin from the “Fire Team” pack finally got her broadcast pass fixed. Her jacket now glows like burning embers instead of looking like dried orange paint.
  38. The new map has a major problem (RUSH). When you get to the cube, everything goes through the outer walls, as if there were no walls.
  39. The 40mm HE underbarrel grenade launcher seems to have been buffed up, it seems to be as good as the SFAR now.
  40. AM40 skins have been updated. Before the update, they were perfectly clean. The skins are now worn like with the other weapons.
