While speaking to Variety, the actors Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver lightened the story of the upcoming third film, Avatar: The Way of Water.
Jaffa told the outlet that the dynamics between the Sullys (particularly Jake and Neytiri) and the Metkayina clan leaders, Ronal and Tonowari, will play a role in the sequel.
Jaffer stated that a lot of things happened between them and a lot of other wives, also over the two wives. There are still many dynamics.
Silver elaborated as he said that fans couldn’t imagine the diverse diversity of different clans that will be shown in the future Avatar film.
You have this kind of dynamic with an utterly relatable articulation, that involves both family and interpersonal interaction, with the same level of intercultural dynamics in her own head, so she tells us. The clans you’ve been working on and the worlds you’ve been searching for on Pandora, you can’t even imagine how they are. Almost like that movie’s tulkun, there’s a lot more to come. Avatar: A Way of Wateris is written and co-written by James Cameron. You’ll be back in the end with Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald and Sigourney Weaver. The stars included Kate Winslet, Elaine Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Viktor Diesel, Jemaine Clement and Oona Chaplin, but also young actors.
Three new films are planned, with Avatar 3tentatively scheduled for December 20, 2024, Avatar 4set for December 18, 2026, and Avatar 5on December 22, 2028.
