Whether or not Apex Legends supports cross-play or cross-platform progression is hugely important to many fans of the game. Any game as popular as Apex Legends will need these kinds of features, especially as we have recently moved to a new console generation.
Apex Legends initially launched on the PS4 and Xbox One generation, but we have since moved into the era of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S after they were released in 2020.
During this time, the game has only continued to grow, whilst crossplay and cross-platform progression have become increasingly common during that time. So here is all you need to know about whether or not Apex Legends supports the aforementioned features.
Does Apex Legends support cross-platform play?
The good news is yes, Apex Legends does support crossplay, so you can play across platforms with any of your friends regardless of their chosen device. This even includes players on the previous generation of consoles, as well as the Nintendo Switch.
In order to utilise crossplay in Apex Legends, you will need to dive into the settings and enable the feature. If you’re unsure of how to do this, keep reading
How to enable crossplay in Apex Legends

To enable crossplay in Apex Legends, you’ll first need to enable crossplay in the Apex Legends settings menu. After that, to team up with a group of friends, follow these steps:
- Go to the ‘Friends’ menu
- Click ‘Find Friend’
- Type in their EA Public ID
- They should now appear
- To make it easier for your friends to find you, enable ‘Email Address’, ‘PSN Online ID’, ‘Xbox Live Gamertag’, and ‘Nintendo Nickname’ in the ‘Allow users to search for me by’ menu
Once this setup is complete, you should now be able to group up with players from other platforms.
Does Apex Legends have cross-progression?

While Apex Legends does support crossplay, it sadly doesn’t support cross-progression. That means if you log in to your EA account from a PlayStation or a PC, your progression will not carry over between the two. If you unlock items in the Battle Pass on the PlayStation, then you won’t be able to use them on your PC account.
For this reason, you should be careful about which account you purchase microtransactions from. There’s nothing worse than buying the Battle Pass for a game account that isn’t your main.
If further details are revealed about cross-progression coming to Apex Legends in the future, we’ll be sure to update you right here.
So, now you know how to enable crossplay on your Apex Legends account. Enjoy playing with all of your friends on other platforms! For more Apex Legends guides, keep reading GGRecon.
