Although NFT isn’t in the best form, the Collection of Cryptopunks has kept records of sale. Yesterday, one of the rarest NFTs in the collection sold for a fortune.
CryptoPunk 2066 sold for more than a million euros.
While the NFT market is currently struggling, the Cryptopunks collection doesn’t seem to know the crisis.
This Saturday, December 31, a very rare NFT from the CryptoPunks collection sold for 1155 ETH to a certain nobody_vault, an anonymous collector from the Opensea exchange platform. This unusual transaction is very affordable, at the current price, as is 1,2 million euros of the very low sum.
There is a 64-ether price to buy a cryptopunk, which is around the 71’000. The mysterious owner paid nearly eight times the price of acquiring his famous NFT Cryptopunk.
Nevertheless, this has only one rare feature. The coveted CryptoPunk #2066 is from the NFT collection and shares Zombie attributes. These non-identical items, sought after by collectors, exist in number 88 of 10,000 of these anti-transmittance-free items.
This new transaction is also included in the sales table for NFT Zombie Cryptopunks, along with:
CryptoPunk #8857, sold for 2000 and thouptopunk #7252, sold for 1600 and thouptopunk #6275, sold for 1319 ETH.
Why Cryptopunks keep breaking sales records?
Before all, remember that the collection has become the pioneer of the NFT sector. Digital punk characters, developed in 2017 by Larva Labs, caused a trend of NFT avatars on Ethereum. They quickly adopted the 10,000 Cryptopunks each with such unique traits, which in turn contributed to their popularity and increased value.
While the cash collection is awarded to collectors, Cryptopunks are now considered to be a virtual masterpiece in real-time, unlike the other ones. Even if many collections offer the owners of their NFTs advantages and privileges, the Cryptopunks have no other option than their pixels.
In spite of the stalemate of several collections in this period, the collection acquired by YugaLabs still has an in-pet.
